A nameless young man, persecuted and powerless, makes a bargain with a captive wizard to gain the strength he needs to defend himself. His new abilities soon draw him into a larger struggle against a deadly warrior-sorcerer whose origins lie in violence committed generations before. Blending sword-and-sorcery adventure with Balkan folklore and myth, Black Blossom by Serbian author Boban Knežević is a dark fantasy about heroism, vengeance, and the way old conflicts can shape the present. First published in Yugoslavia in 1993.
