'There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it.' A Study in Scarlet is the literary debut of the world-renowned character of Sherlock Holmes. After the tragic experience of a war in Afghanistan, Dr John Watson finds himself alongside a new acquaintance, Sherlock Holmes, in London. Their uneventful lives are soon interrupted by the unfortunate discovery of a dead man whose face is frozen with an expression of horror and hatred with the word Rache written in blood on the wall. With the creation of Sherlock Holmes, the first scientifically grounded fictional detective, Conan goes on to solve mysteries which are gripping, interesting, and keep you hooked to his most soughtafter characters.
